Bickmore has been making leather care products since 1882, and Bick 4 is the product that stayed. It’s colorless — no darkening on lighter leathers, no residue on bridle tack — and it works across every vegetable-tanned and oil-tanned leather in your kit. One 16 oz tin, applied with a soft cloth, covers a full rotation of boots, belts, bags, and a wallet in one session and still has plenty left for the next pass.
The formula is a blend of natural conditioning oils and emulsifiers. It penetrates the leather fiber rather than sitting on the surface, which is what you want for long-term protection. Mink oil and heavy petroleum-based conditioners darken leather and soften it excessively over time. Bick 4 does neither. For bridle leather specifically — Hermann Oak and Wickett & Craig tannages that need oil replenishment without grain disruption — it’s the industry standard.
Our 5-minute leather care routine uses Bick 4 as the default conditioner. Spring and fall, 12 minutes per piece. This tin lasts years.
