Some of the outbound links in our journal articles and pillar guides are affiliate links. If you click through one of those links and buy something, we earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Those commissions are how the site pays its bills. As an Amazon Associate, Wyoming Trading Post earns from qualifying purchases.

We don't sell products ourselves. Every product link on the site goes to an outside retailer.

What we won't take

• No paid placement in journal articles.
• No brand sponsorship that alters editorial opinion.
• No free products in exchange for positive coverage. If a maker ever sends a sample, the article says so.
• No undisclosed "partner posts" dressed up as editorial.

FTC compliance

Per 16 CFR Part 255 (the FTC's Endorsement Guides), articles that contain affiliate links display a disclosure above the article body. Recommendations are based on maker specifications, published reporting and the sources listed with each article. We don't claim to have tested gear we haven't used.

Editorial independence

There's no house brand competing with the gear we recommend, because we don't sell any. A product's commission rate doesn't decide whether a guide names it.
