This policy covers wyomingtradingpost.com (the "site"). It explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. Plain English, not lawyer English.

What we collect

Newsletter signups. Email only, stored in our subscriber database and used to send the newsletter.
Contact-form submissions. Whatever you put in the form, plus your email so we can reply.
Analytics. Anonymous, aggregated page-view data via Cloudflare Web Analytics. No cookies, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting. Optionally Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization enabled.

Retailer links

We don't sell anything, so we never take orders or payment details. When you follow a product link to Amazon or another retailer, that retailer may set its own cookies to record that you came from this site. What they collect is covered by their privacy policy, not this one.

What we don't collect

No Facebook Pixel or Meta advertising IDs.
No third-party ad cookies.
No behavioral retargeting.
No session replay or heatmap tools.

How we use it

Email newsletter lists are used only to send the newsletter you signed up for. We don't sell or rent them. Analytics data is used to figure out which articles people actually read.

How long we keep it

Newsletter email list: until you unsubscribe. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Contact form messages: purged after 12 months unless an active case is open.
Analytics: aggregated, 14-month retention.

Your rights

Under GDPR (if you're in the EU/UK) and CCPA (if you're a California resident), you can request a copy of the personal data we hold on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@wyomingtradingpost.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We respond inside 30 days.

Cookies and analytics consent

We use a small number of strictly functional cookies (theme preference, consent record). We do not set any cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and runs for every visitor. Google Analytics 4 sets a cookie and a random identifier, so it runs with Google Consent Mode v2, scoped by region:

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland it stays off until you choose Accept on the banner. No cookie or identifier is set unless you opt in.
Everywhere else it is on by default, which local privacy laws allow for first-party analytics. You can turn it off any time below.
Advertising and marketing signals are off everywhere. We run no ads and build no ad profiles.

Change your Google Analytics choice any time, in any region, with the control below. It takes effect immediately.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

We update this page when policy changes. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
